It is with great pleasure that we may now officially announce the appointment of Michael P. Castrilli as Woodholme's new, certified PGA Head Golf Professional. Michael was chosen after an extensive search, which included group interviews with many highly qualified club professionals from around the country. Michael comes with great credentials and excellent recommendations.
We are pleased to welcome Michael to our club, and we know that he will be instrumental in teaching the game to our members and guests, directing pro shop operations, and overseeing tournaments. Finding the right head golf professional to suit the character of a club is always a challenging task, especially since so many things need to fall into place for the perfect match. We identified a really great candidate in Michael, and we look forward to having our members get to know him.
Michael's most recent position prior to joining Woodholme Country Club was that of PGA First Assistant at The Ridgewood Country Club, Paramus, NJ. The Ridgewood Country Club is an A.W. Tillinghast designed 27-hole private, member-owned club with 650 members. It does approximately 31,000 rounds annually. It was also host of the 1935 Ryder Cup, 1974 U.S. Amateur, 1990 U.S. Senior Open, 2001 Senior PGA Championship and the 2008, 2010, 2014 Barclays, 2016 USGA U.S. Girls' Junior Championship, & 2018 PGA Tour Northern Trust Tournament.
Prior to this, Michael was the 1st Assistant Golf Professional at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield, NJ. Michael received his Class A PGA professional certification in 2011.
In 2011, Michael also received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Professional Golf Management, from Methodist University.
With all of his incredible golf-related accomplishments, it is with great enthusiasm that we introduce Michael P. Castrilli as our new PGA Golf Professional. We were committed to identifying and recruiting a top tier professional and now feel that we have not only achieved our goal but have far exceeded it. We truly believe we now have one of the finest golf pros in the business.
